LATE 1920's SILK DRESS black scalloped S
Black silk late 20's dress... anything but 'basic'! The top is scalloped-edged and layered, alternating the matte and shiny side of the charmeuse. The waist is slightly 'dropped', and relaxed, with snap side closure (picture 10). The skirt is loosely pleated. Fits me well as a S. The style of this era was to wear dresses loose, this is not meant to be fully 'filled out'. Please compare the measurements below with a dress you have at home that fits well. Overall, this is is amazing condition for a 90-year-old dress! There are some flaws, though, to be expected, but this is still wearable with a little love. Pictures 7, 8, and 9 show tears in the scalloped edges (there are several), this portion of the fabric can lift up, so it's easily patched from behind to fortify. the ones on the left back were repaired with stitching (why blue thread, though?! the blue thread doesn't show on the side others see). Picture 10 shows some of the side snaps are missing, but I have actually repaired those, so it's no longer an issue. :) ACTUAL GARMENT MEASUREMENTS (no stretch) Shoulders: 13.25" seam to seam across top back, 16" 'puff to puff' Sleeves: 12" Bust: 34" Waist: 31" Hip: full (44") Length: 40.25" Check out my other listings, I love to combine shipping!
