deep GREEN SILK 1920s DRESS 20s S (D9)
Deep, rich green silk chiffon dress from the 1920s! I did lighten the first picture to help you better see details. It looks like a jacket over a dress (picture 5), but it's actually all connected as one piece... pulls on over the head, no closures. Front bodice panel is either silk/cotton blend, or all cotton, it's a weave, so it's not as sheer as the chiffon parts are (I have a 1/2 slip on on the bottom for the pictures, as the skirt is rather sheer). Remarkably, this has very FEW flaws, especially considering she's 90+ years old! Picture 9 shows the front center neckline edge is raw, looks like the edge was hand-rolled, and has come out there. Not super-noticeable, you could get away without fixing if you had to for now (especially if you have a necklace on or something!). Also, picture 10 shows there are no closures on the wrists... typically this era of dress has snaps on the wrists, but there are none. Also, to look closely, the hem and placket are rather "DIY" looking, the stitching isn't perfect, but it's pretty straight and definitely sturdy. No one else would notice when you have it on, but it's something you may see as you look this over fresh out of the package. Also, a slight touch of fade in the immediate underarms (only the area right IN the armpits), but very subtle, and again, doesn't detract. Fits a S best... you have to allow room to slip this on and off, as there are no closures. Model is a US size 4. Dress itself measures 36" at the bust, 36.75" at the waist seam, and the hip measures 42". Just a hair over 42" long.
