3 LARGE 1940's VINTAGE BUTTONS sewing
Maybe celluloid?? I can't really 'test', since these were hand-dyed, so they have an overlayer of sheer pale lavender color on both the front and back. These have that 'resin' type feel, with dimensional flower carved on each one. They must be hand-done, because each of the 3 is ever so slightly different. These come from a 96-year-old client who was married in 1944, and these were the buttons on her 'going away' suit. Hopefully we can uncover some pictures of the suit, I'd love to see what it looked like! You can see her little 'post it note' on the back of one of the buttons, easily removed when you're ready to use these. These are 1 3/4" across, and will need a bit of lee-way in the buttonhole due to the thickness of the button. I have some select buttons and threads from this gal's sewing basket listed under the "Vintage Finds" section of the shop! Check out my other listings, I love to combine shipping! I cannot mark international packages as 'gift', as that is customs fraud. Dreaming of more than one item in our shop? We understand! If your order totals $100 or more before shipping, enter coupon code MULTIDEAL at checkout and save 10%! Use the code as often as you like, and we'll keep adding new items for you to drool over. :) Check out the latest arrivals on our Instagram page, we're @avienavintage .
