1940's 40's STRIPED COTTON DRESS S (B9)
This cute dress comes to me from the original owners daughter... she said her mother made it! I see the bodice fabric is the remnant from the fabric she made another dress out of. This is all cotton, the black/gray/off-white striped part is a weave, and the bodice center is an almost 'mini-waffle' texture. Gathered shoulders for a little 'puff' to the sleeve. This is all one piece, even though it looks like a blouse-skirt-jacket set. The front bodice buttons are functional, and there is also an unpainted metal side zip. Picture 8 shows there are two buttonholes at the neckline, this probably originally had a little ribbon tie looped through there to tie together at the neckline, but there's no ribbon currently included. Can wear as-is, doesn't necessarily have to close at the neck. Fits me perfectly as a US size 4, please compare the measurements below with a dress you have at home that fits well. There's a touch of wash-fade to the black, it's still quite black though, so it doesn't look 'worn out' or anything. Just no longer looks 'new', which is to be expected with a 70-year-old dress. Presents fabulously!
