1930's BIAS CUT lace GOWN cobalt blue and purple 30's S xs (D9)
1930's bias-cut lace gown, in the prettiest color! The slip is included, and it's a rich cobalt blue silk. The lace is cotton and maybe rayon or silk? The parts that seem to be rayon in the lace are cobalt blue, and the cotton parts of the lace are purple. Together they make a lovely impact! Cut on the bias to love your curves. The back 'dips' a bit with a little draping. This also has the matching lace jacket shown, which is designed with no closures. Early Talon zip on the side (picture 6), surprisingly a blue-painted one, they didn't do a lot of painted zippers in the early days. I actually could slip this on without using the zipper. As far as flaws goes, this is in wonderful condition, especially considering it's age! When you fold the dress over, you can see some of the areas of lace are slightly lighter, but it's SO subtle, and you don't notice that while you're wearing it. Picture 10 shows a small hole and stain on the slip, on approximately the 'lap'. This could be patched from the inside and it would never be noticed while in use. I am wearing it hole and all in the pictures, and you can see that even unrepaired it's not an issue. I would recommend a patch of some kind, though, to keep it from getting larger. Model is approximately US size 4 on top/6 on bottom, and is 5'7". Great fit, but could be a little flexible either way, because of the bias cut. I would say this may fit a true 6 at max, but would not work for an 8, since this needs some lee-way in the fabric to drape properly. Please compare the measurements below with a dress you have at home that fits well. ACTUAL GARMENT MEASUREMENTS Bust: 33-36" Waist: 26-28" Hip: 35-38" Length: approximately 58", will vary slightly depending on how much the bias cut has to give on the way down Check out my other listings, I love to combine shipping!
